Don’t wait! This is the time to start a childcare business. Nearly 23 million children ages 5 and under live in the United States, with 71% living in households in which all parents work. These numbers reveal an undeniable truth: we do NOT have enough childcare businesses to support the demand for childcare.

That's why we are excited to share with you the Central California Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and Nurture's collaborative creation: a 12-week Childcare Business Program. Join us as we guide you through the process of starting your own childcare business!

This track includes three courses:

  • Business Exploration
  • State Licensing
  • Business Essentials

For the first three weeks of the Business Start-Up Track, you will work exclusively on the State Licensing course. In Week 4, you will begin the Business Essentials course, while you are following through on steps in the licensing process.

Business start-up grants and/or loans are available to entrepreneurs who complete this track.

Through tech-forward instructional content and coaching, as well as facilitated access to capital and services, Nurture extends the capacity of local programs, without the need to create new stand-alone ones.
