The Federal Reserve’s quest for small business owners to provide feedback for their annual nationwide online Small Business Credit Survey, and phaseout of federal pandemic funding for childcare are among topics of this week’s free webinar presented by the Small Business Development Center at CSU Bakersfield.

Host and SBDC director, Kelly Bearden will be joined by Sarah Simms, Senior Community Development Finance Manager with the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. Simms will discuss how the Federal Reserve is putting a call out to for-profit businesses currently in operation, those recently closed, and those about to launch their business to take the online 2023 Small Business Credit Survey and share their experiences. Data from the nationwide confidential survey directly informs the Fed, federal government agencies, service providers, policymakers, and others.

Economist Mark Evans, an emeritus professor from CSUB will join the webinar with a look at this month’s phaseout of federal pandemic funding for childcare and the likely impact in California, plus an interest rate watch with Federal Reserve policymakers set to meet next week.

The webinar will begin with Bearden providing updates on capital resources programs, the Bakersfield Entrepreneurship Grant Program, and weather-related disaster assistance for businesses from local, state, and federal governments.

Questions from attendees will be taken.

This marks the 290th episode of the weekly “Webinar Wednesday” business series that provides news and information helpful to employers and business owners.
